DUQQA –(DOO-kah)
An Egyptian nut and spice mixture eaten as a dip with bread and oil, and also as a crust on meats, fish, veggies, blended with dairy products like goats cheese and sour cream..this stuff is healthy, incredibly delicious and so versatile you can take it camping, to a fancy dinner, or just toss some on your popcorn...mmmmm.
GOMASHIO
It's a Japanese blend of toasted and ground sesame seeds and fine French sea salt called fleur de sel.
HEMP ZAATAR- New for 2008, this blend of lightly toasted, Canadian grown shelled hemp seeds is blended with sumac, a ground red berry that adds an acidic citrus tang, with whole thyme and a hint of fleur de sel.
Over the last few years many of you have asked for this wonderfully fragrant Lebanese blend, so here is my take on it, using the nutritiously dense hemp seeds. Just use it like the Duqqa, substitute Zaatar for any of the recipes that use Gomashio and Duqqa. It's fab!
MUSTARD
*Pomegranate Mustard...it's amazing. Tangy, zippy, incredible....
*Orange Chipotle Mustard - New for 2008 Available in June, this mustard has a wonderfully citrus aroma and smoky chipotle overtone and hint of sweetness from locally produced honey....oh, this is so good. Look for it later this spring at the farmers' markets followed by an introduction to the retail market.
SECRET!!!! Coming in 2008, a spectacular new product that is a departure from all things spicy...It's luscious, sexy, and meant for adults only...and yes, you can eat it too....It's coming later this spring...
